This page focuses on the project of the Department of Culture and Communications of the Institute for Development and International Relations CULTMED – Interdisciplinary Research on Cultural and Media Policies and Practices: Developmental and Democratic Potentials (December 31, 2023 – December 31, 2027), funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021-2026, NextGeneration EU program. The goal of the project includes the creation of structural assumptions for continuous scientific work on culture and media research through the establishment of two centers of excellence – the Center for Cultural Policy Research, Development and Cooperation (CULTURELINK) and the Center for Media Sociology and Digital Society (CEMEDIG), which, together with IRMO scientists, strive to bring together external collaborators who are engaged in research in the thematic focuses of the centers.
The establishment of this structure aims to achieve better sustainability, recognition, and systematicity of culture and media research. The centers will provide the communication infrastructure for the implementation of the planned activities during this project, but also for the long-term monitoring of these research topics after the end of the four-year project cycle.
The page also contains information on other current and completed projects carried out within the Department of Culture and Communications, as well as an archive of meetings organized by the Department and the Culturelink World Network, and an overview of selected monograph publications by scientists at the Department of Culture and Communications.
