International competitive projects
This category includes projects that are carried out within the framework of international competitive programs obtained in tenders funded by the European Union as part of various programs (HORIZON, Erasmus+, Jean Monnet Projects, Creative Europe, etc.) or in tenders of other foreign or international science foundations.
National competitive projects
This category includes projects submitted to competitive tenders announced at the Croatian level, which includes projects financed by the Croatian Science Foundation or projects carried out as part of tenders for ESF funds.
Institutional funding
Institutional funding includes basic and applied scientific research projects that are carried out within the framework of multi-year competitive scientific programs defined by the Development Strategy of the Institute for Development and International Relations 2017-2027, as well as previous strategies, for which evaluations are carried out by the Ministry of Science and Education. This category also includes projects funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021-2026 – EU: NextGenerationEU.

Other projects, collaborations, and studies usually include short-term projects, for example, research studies or strategies done either at the local, national, or international level, as well as collaborations within various expert groups.

The CULTMED project includes research related to the development of culture and cultural policy, media, and media policy in Croatia and defines the local, regional, national, European, and global environment of Croatian culture and media. This includes the analysis of cultural and media policies and strategies in Croatia and the EU; cultural and creative industries; cultural heritage as a development resource; and the economy of culture and decision-making processes that determine the direction of cultural development.

IRMO is a partner in a consortium of 26 institutions that jointly implement a three-year (2023-2026) project called ‘Increasing the international competitiveness of the film industry in small European markets’ (CRESCINE). This RIA (Research and Innovation Action) Horizon Europe project is coordinated by the University of Lusófona from Portugal and includes partners from academia and the film industry.
