The Department of Culture and Communications conducts interdisciplinary scientific research in the field of social sciences and humanities in the fields of sociology, political science, information sciences, and ethnology. The Department’s research focus is dedicated to improving knowledge and understanding of cultural and media policy, especially in the context of different societies, cultures, and political systems around the world, research into sustainable cultural development, and international cultural communication and cooperation. This includes the development of partnerships and cooperation with national and international research institutions, civil society organizations, government bodies and agencies, and public administrations and institutions for the exchange of knowledge and best practices in cultural and media policy. In its research approach, the Department considers culture as a central element in the sustainable development of our society and strives to contribute to the improvement of issues related to the sustainability of the cultural and media sector and its activities.
