The new CresCine Newsdossier has been published

A brand new edition of the CresCine newsletter has been released. It was published as part of the Horizon Europe project “Increasing the international competitiveness of the film industry in small European markets.” IRMO is one of 26 partners in a consortium that brings together experts from the scientific sector and the film industry.

The topics covered by the new edition of the CresCine newsletter published in March are:

  • CresCine Chronicles—CresCine Consortium member Sten-Kristian Saluveer spoke at this year’s SXSW Festival about insights into the state of the film and media industry. At SXSW 2024, some of the topics included strikes in the film industry, paradigm shifts in distribution, brands, and the utility impact of artificial intelligence.
  • ScreenMe podcast – in new edition of the podcast consortium member Ulrike Rohn hosted Jakob Isak Nielsen, associate professor of the Department of Media and Journalism Studies at Aarhus University. They discussed the intersection of entrepreneurship and the film and TV industry. You can listen to the podcast here.
  • CresCine Producers Club – organizes free one-day workshops for producers in April to allow them to explore tools and methodologies aimed at maximizing success of their new projects. You can register for the workshop here.
  • Important member of the CresCine consortium from Estonia, Professor Indrek Ibrus, has been honored with the 2024 Social Sciences Research Award from the Estonian Government. Professor Ibrus’s contributions to social sciences, notably his groundbreaking series of works titled “Studies of Media Innovation, Digital Culture, and Cultural Data,” have earned him this prestigious award.
