A new episode of Filmomanija on Croatian Radio is dedicated to the 15th Annual International Small Cinemas Conference, held from November 5-7 at the F22 Stage of the Academy of Dramatic Art (ADU) in Zagreb. This international conference brought together film experts, theorists, and enthusiasts from around the world to discuss the role of small and independent cinemas in today’s cultural industry. Special focus was given to the challenges small cinemas face and innovative strategies that help them adapt to modern conditions. The conference was organized as a part of EU project CresCine, in cooperation of the Department for Culture and Communication at IRMO, ZFF, and ADU.

Filmomanija, available via Croatian Radio’s official website, provides an overview of the conference’s main topics, including the significance of small cinemas in preserving film diversity, their impact on local communities, and their future in the digital era. Special guest Dr. Jaka Primorac, Scientific Advisor of the Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO) and Chair of the Conference Organizing Committee, shared insights into the conference, the collaboration between IRMO, the Zagreb Film Festival, and ADU, as well as the CresCine project. A special guest was also Selma Mehadžić from Zagreb Film Festival, who spoke on cooperation between ZFF and IRMO and reflected on the 22nd edition of the festival.
